This form lets you:
• Display all source-currency account balances for a multicurrency account, as well as the equivalent amounts in the functional currency.
• Display all reporting-currency account balances for a multicurrency account. If euro is your functional currency and you specified a reporting currency, this form displays a column with amounts shown in the reporting currency.
• Display source-currency account balances for rollup accounts. Amounts will appear in the Source Balance and Equivalent Balance columns when you select the Use Rolled Up Amounts option.
• Drills down to Transaction History to show individual transactions.
Reporting Currency
The reporting currency is a Currency Type option that appears in General Ledger to enable euro based companies operating in a European Monetary Union member state to report transaction amounts and account balances in their national currency while using the euro as their functional (home) currency.
Note that this option is only available if you made the following selections on the Company Profile's Option tab in Common Services:
• You chose the multicurrency option (a check mark appears next to the option).
• You chose EUR as the functional currency.
• You chose the euro option (a check mark appears next to the option).
To display source-currency account balances for an account
1. Enter an Account number or use the Finder to select one.
2. Click the Period icon to select the Period Ending for which you want to view balances.
Results are automatically displayed when you change any input field.
If the account you select is a Rollup Account, the Use Rolled Up Balances option appears. Select it to see balances for this account. If you drill down to Transaction History, it will show the rollup account as well as the rollup members' transactions.
General Ledger lists all the source currencies that have been posted to the displayed account in the selected period. If you have posted to the account only in the functional currency, no balances will be displayed.
